LATAR TMC plays an important role as the communication center for all information in regards to the highway.

Functions of LATAR TMC are as follows:

• Co-ordinate all data, system resources and support services for optimum traffic and event management of the highway.
• To operate daily Traffic Monitoring Centre (TMC) and manages the LATAR line 03-61451515
• Act as the focal point for the compilation, communication and sharing of information from TMC system, EXPERT, public information system and users to relevant parties in accordance with established procedure and guidelines.
• Co-ordinate relevant roadside assistance to highway users.
• Provide 1st level support and assessment on highway events in view of event criticality for further support resources consideration.
• Co-ordinate relevant personnel, contractors, authorities and resources for optimum event management and assistance.
• Provide relevant input, analysis and recommendation for management consideration.
• Prepare relevant reports as required by the management.
• Undertake other duties as directed by the immediate superior or Management.
